POSITION: Data Engineer (9199896)
JOB LOCATION: 10353 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77042 (& various unanticipated locations throughout the US; may telecommute)
DUTIES: Collaborate with business users and technical teams to design and develop scalable ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter. Apply best practices for data movement, quality, and cleansing, supporting enterprise data warehousing solutions. Create source-to-target mappings, integration workflows, and reusable components for efficient ETL solution to the business problem. Promote the solution across various environments to different testing phases. Prepare instructions for PROD promotion and provide deployment support. Develop design documentation, architect data maps, build data quality components, and conduct unit testing. Validate ETL solutions across all test phases, including functional, integration, regression, UAT, and pre-prod. Lead defect triage meetings and prioritize issue resolution. Participate in requirement and design reviews and work closely with system owners to understand existing data environments. Support production by resolving data issues, refining transformation logic, and monitoring batch jobs. Plan Informatica workflow schedules, define cutover strategies, and manage go-live activities. Follow Agile Scrum practices using JIRA and TFS for task tracking. Work with PL/SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Unix scripting, GIT, and Autosys. Utilize experience to troubleshoot complex ETL issues and contribute solutions. Perform ETL-related activities: data movement, data quality, and data cleansing. Utilize the Informatica platform to extract, transform, and load data through development, testing and integration of ETL routines and external programming/scripting languages.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering or Applied Computer Science and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience utilizing Informatica PowerCenter; utilizing JIRA and TFS for the status tracking; working with PL/SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Unix scripting, GIT, and Autosys; utilizing experience to troubleshoot complex ETL issues and contribute solutions; performing ETL-related activities: data movement, data quality, and data cleansing; utilizing the Informatica platform to extract, transform, and load data through development, testing and integration of ETL routines and external programming/scripting languages.
