Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Enterprise Applications Developer II is responsible for all state and institutional reporting, service development, ERP system implementation, and integrated component implementations, such as Banner 9, DegreeWorks, TargetX, and/or Salesforce, Canvas, etc., as well as institutional automation. This position must also assist Enterprise Application Developers in coordinating Banner and database efforts for efficient service operation. The Enterprise Applications Developer II is responsible for overseeing the use of Ellucian-Banner Software and Oracle/SQL language to analyze and create solutions to daily and long-term needs through the use of automation with various computer tools. This position must also analyze current processes and identify areas that can be automated or improved through innovation and creativity, while maintaining all service-oriented data loads and validation for all our integrated components. This position must also assist Enterprise Application Developers in coordinating Banner and database efforts for efficient service operation. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to the following:   

  • Collaborate with users at various levels of the organization to determine requirements, options, and testing of Ellucian Banner and Banner Self-Service upgrades. 
  • This also applies to all ERP-integrated components implementations, such as Banner 9, DegreeWorks, Starfish, Canvas, SignalVine, Presence, etc.
  • Oversee the acquisition, extraction, transformation, and analysis of all data reporting. 
  • Ensures that all state reporting deadlines are met, and that all submitted state data is critical for each of the different state reporting submission types, such as the student database, personnel, facilities, etc.
  • Maintain current data warehouse institutional standards and validate all data in all services and systems tied to our ERP system. 
  • Coordinate the acquisition, extraction, transformation, storage, and analysis of all data reporting and utilize analytical systems to provide the organization with data crucial to operational excellence.
  • Research and become knowledgeable of Ellucian Banner ERP upgrades and application functionality. 
  • Maintain secure, stable, and optimal application systems in large enterprise environments.
  • Provide support for data requests and daily operations, and work collaboratively with college staff to thoroughly document problems and needs.
  • Design programming solutions that utilize stored procedures, packages, public functions, and Application Express with appropriate levels of error checking.
  • Provide analysis and use of available applications to the Director of Process Improvement & Research.
  • Communicate with Workflow Administrator regarding API data changes or requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. 
  • Ability to test and debug computer programs. 
  • Ability to review and analyze systems specifications to determine whether all required elements have been included. 
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments through prioritization and time management, and effectively documenting and communicating the status of projects and issues to management and Information Technology personnel. 
  • Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the college community. 
  • Availability to work some nights and weekend hours as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • :
    1. Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
    2. Two years’ experience maintaining application systems in a large enterprise environment that are secure, stable, and operate at optimal performance. 
    3. One to two years’ experience programming complex solutions using Oracle PL/SQL or MS/SQL. 
    4. Working familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred:
    1. Experience in ERP systems, specifically Ellucian Banner, Oracle database systems, and third-party applications such as Canvas, Application Express, and Evisions.
