Fractional Data Quality & Analytics Specialist

This position is expected to support organizational priorities for an initial period of 3 to 6 months, with the opportunity for extension based on evolving organizational needs and business requirements.

General Description 

Centering Healthcare Institute (“CHI”)  is a non-profit organization that collaborates with healthcare providers across all sectors to transform healthcare. Our mission is to champion and advance the evidence-based Centering group model of care to transform how healthcare is practiced and experienced, empowering healthcare providers and patients to improve health outcomes. 

We empower patients, strengthen patient-provider relationships, and build communities through three main components: health assessment, interactive learning, and community building. CHI is transforming healthcare delivery and outcomes for all families, beginning with pregnancy and early childhood, by expanding access to our evidence-based framework for billable group medical visits. With over two decades of experience, CHI has successfully scaled Centering to approximately 480 Centering sites in more than 40 U.S. states and territories, with approximately 28,000 patients served in 2025.

The Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Technology, the Fractional Data Quality & Analytics Specialist supports Centering Healthcare Institute's data, evaluation, research, and impact functions in support of CHI's strategic priorities. The specialist supports the implementation of CHI's data strategy, promotes the integrity and usability of organizational data, and collaborates across teams to translate insights into evidence-informed decisions. This role is ideal for someone with experience in data analysis within public health or nonprofit settings, an interest in the full data lifecycle from data collection through analysis and reporting, and a passion for helping colleagues use data to support learning, improvement, and impact.

Key Responsibilities  

Data Management, Analytics, and Operations  

• Implements and advances CHI's data, evaluation, and impact initiatives.
• Compiles, cleans, merges, harmonizes, and maintains data from multiple internal and external sources.  
• Conducts descriptive statistical analyses and applies or adapts consistent methods across projects, learning new methods as needed.
• Prepares analytic outputs including tables, visualizations, and narrative summaries.  
• Establishes and advances quality assurance (QA) and data validation protocols and audits.  
• Documents and maintains operational procedures, including data dictionaries, technical specifications, analysis plans, and workflows, to support accuracy, consistency, usability, and ethical data practices.
• Advances data practices that reflect CHI's commitment to equity, including culturally responsive and participatory approaches where appropriate and feasible.
• Develop and tests data collection tools to ensure data gathered across the organization is consistent, high-quality, and aligned with organizational goals.  
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to communicate findings, translate data into actionable insights, and support evidence-informed decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Learning 

• Partners with CHI teams to ensure integrated, high-quality data collection, analytics, and insights.  
• Translates project scopes, analysis plans, and data findings for technical and non-technical internal and external audiences.  
• Promotes data literacy and capacity across teams. 
• Develops and refines KPIs, performance metrics, and monitoring tools and processes that drive organizational learning, accountability, and strategic decision-making.  
• Facilitates proposal development and reporting for general and data- and evaluation-related funding opportunities.  
• Leads and enhances data-related processes and functions that promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, innovation, and alignment with CHI's strategic goals.

Evidence Building and External Partnerships  

• Collects and compiles data from public health datasets and research and conducts literature reviews to support CHI's programs, evaluation efforts, and strategic initiatives. 
• Develops content for and contributes to external publications, presentations, briefs, and other materials that communicate CHI's impact, outcomes, and value proposition.

Project Management and Coordination

• Ensures the timely fulfillment of data and evaluation-related components of grant, partnership, and contractual deliverables.
• Maintains regular communication with project team members and coordinates project activities to support successful execution and delivery.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Technology and works closely with the Director of Data, Research, & Impact.

Reporting Structure and Key Relationships

Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of public health, health equity, or maternal and infant health data, evaluation, or research experience, including qualitative, quantitative, and participatory evaluation or research projects for nonprofit health organizations or in healthcare settings (or equivalent experience)  
• Demonstrated expertise in data compilation, management, analysis, and reporting. 
• Knowledge of healthcare data protections and regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and best practices for ethical and responsible data use.  
• Experience preparing data summaries for publications, briefs, presentations, or reports for diverse audiences.  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights. 
• Experience navigating secondary public health datasets and conducting literature reviews. 

Skills: 

• Advanced proficiency with Excel (e.g. power query, complex formulas); strong data cleaning, merging, and manipulation skills; experience with R, online data collection platforms such as Qualtrics, Business Intelligence/ visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI), and Salesforce are a plus.  
• Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills  
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills  
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; project management software experience a plus 
• Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest ethical standards, including confidentiality and handling sensitive situations and information with the utmost discretion and diplomacy.

Working Conditions 

The Fractional Data Quality & Analytics Specialist operates in a remote office-like environment. While adhering to an agreed upon schedule, working irregular hours may be necessary. We prioritize adaptability, iterative approaches, and cross-functional collaboration, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Communication: Regular check-ins via [communication tools, e. g., Teams, Zoom, email] are required to maintain alignment, productivity and collaboration.

Productivity: Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work without direct supervision. This utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems

Travel: No travel is required for this role. 

Compensation and Benefits 

This is a part-time, non-exempt W-2 position expected to work approximately 20-30 hours per week. The hourly rate for this role is $45-$52, commensurate with experience and qualifications. As a W-2 employee, the selected candidate will be subject to CHI's employment policies and will be eligible for benefits in accordance with organizational policy and applicable law.

Vaccination Requirements 

As a condition of employment, each candidate selected for employment will be required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination prior to the selected candidate’s start date with the Company and be fully vaccinated (as that term may be defined by the CDC) within 30 days from that date, unless approved for an exemption.
