About Taiga
Based in Montreal, Canada, Taiga builds zero-emission powersports vehicles for adventurers, tour operators, fleet partners, and dealers across North America and Europe. As we scale our 2026/2027 commercial program, including a calendar of 20+ signature events across the EU, we’re looking for a sharp PR partner to amplify the brand to consumer, trade, and B2B audiences.
The Role
We’re hiring a Fractional PR Specialist to own earned media, press relations, and brand storytelling across our key markets. You’ll work alongside the Marketing Director and EU Operations team to land Taiga in the publications, podcasts, and conversations that matter, from cleantech and mobility press to powersports verticals, luxury travel/tourism trade, and dealer-channel media.
This role lives or dies on relationships. We’re specifically looking for someone with a deep, active black book of journalists, editors, and producers, the kind of network where you can pick up the phone, pitch an exclusive, and host intimate press moments (rides, factory tours, behind-the-scenes previews, embargoed first looks) that translate into meaningful coverage. We don’t want someone who blasts press lists; we want someone whose contacts already trust them.
This is a hands-on, senior-level role for someone who has built media programs from the ground up and is comfortable operating without a large internal team behind them.
What You’ll Do
-
Own the press strategy across consumer (D2C), B2B fleet/tour operator, and dealer-channel audiences in EU and North America
-
Build and maintain the media list - top-tier cleantech, EV/mobility, powersports, outdoor/adventure, luxury travel, and regional trade press
-
Pitch and place stories tied to product launches, signature events, partnership announcements, and executive thought leadership
-
Curate and host exclusive press moments - intimate journalist rides, embargoed previews, factory/HQ visits, 1:1 executive sit-downs, leveraging your existing relationships to secure coverage from outlets that matter
-
Draft press releases, media kits, briefing docs, Q&As, and bylined pieces in English (additional language fluency a plus, FR especially valued)
-
Run press at signature events - coordinate journalist invites, on-site interviews, embargo strategy, and post-event coverage tracking for the 2026/2027 EU event calendar
-
Manage inbound press inquiries and serve as a frontline media contact during business hours in your region
-
Build relationships with industry analysts, podcasters, and key influencers in EV, powersports, and sustainable travel
-
Track coverage, share of voice, and earned reach - report monthly with clear ROI narrative
-
Partner with the Marketing Lead on integrated moments where PR, social, and email need to land in lockstep across our six audience segments
What We’re Looking For
-
7+ years in PR, communications, or earned media - agency or in-house, with a portfolio of placements you can point to
-
A deep, active journalist network- not a media list, but real working relationships with editors, reporters, and producers in at least one of: cleantech/EV, mobility, powersports, outdoor/adventure, or luxury travel. You should be able to point to specific exclusives, embargoes, or hosted press moments you’ve personally landed.
-
Proven fractional or consulting experience - you know how to scope, prioritize, and deliver against a part-time mandate without needing day-to-day management
-
Strong writer - press releases, pitches, and exec comms that don’t read like press releases
-
Event PR chops - you’ve staffed launches, trade shows, or signature brand moments
-
Comfortable in a scale-up environment - sleeves-rolled, scrappy, no team of juniors to delegate to
-
Eligible to work in your stated location (EU work authorization or US authorization for NY-based candidates)
Nice to Have
-
Experience with EV, automotive, or powersports brands
-
Multilingual (Italian, French, German, or Spanish a strong plus given EU footprint)
-
Network in B2B tour operator / hospitality trade press
-
Familiarity with dealer-channel and trade publication landscape
Logistics
-
Hours: ~15–25 hrs/week, flexible — heavier weeks around event moments and announcements
-
Term: 6-month initial engagement, renewable; option to grow scope
-
Rate: Competitive monthly retainer, commensurate with experience
- Location: Remote preference to be based in a major EU/NA hub (ie. London, New York City, etc.)
