The Associate Cloud Engineer works to deliver and support enterprise cloud solutions. Assists with developing internal and external compatibility of the system and subsystems.
Performs scripting by using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks. Is aware of SLAs and OLAs and takes steps to meet or exceed them. Documents modified solutions, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Writes configuration for cloud platforms leveraging appropriate tools. Assists with the “Ops” part of DevOps. May develop and maintain tools and frameworks that other teams use to smoothly develop their applications. May use technology to implement automation and orchestration. Supports cloud solutions that meet business and technology needs. Supports the integration of cloud solutions with existing enterprise tools and systems. Adheres to compliance of cloud solutions to architectural standards. May participate in evaluation of enterprise cloud technology standards, tools, products, and solutions. May work with information security to ensure Cloud solutions support maintenance of a secure technology environment. Supports the validation of installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud solutions. Supports compliance of role-based access control (RBAC), cost containment and cloud provider account management. Reviews and may perform minor modifications to Cloud systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years’ experience in Cloud engineering / technology, or Associate’s degree with 1-3 years’ experience, or HS/GED with 3-5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. Certification in cloud engineering is required within 12-24 months.
