Job Summary 

The National Sales Consultant, Finals & Deal Strategy supports the retirement plan sales organization by executing finalist meeting preparation, deal specific strategy development, deal team coaching, high-quality web-based technology demonstrations, and other established best practices for opportunities in the $10M+ market segment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring consistent, professional finalist experiences that drive advancement and close ratios across mid-large-market opportunities. 
 
Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role works in close alignment with the National Sales Director (Finals & Deal Strategy). The National Sales Consultant partners closely with sales, service, marketing, and RFP teams to deliver polished finalist materials, market-leading sales experiences, confident demonstrations, and a disciplined execution of the Sales Playbook. 
 
Candidates located in the Central or West Coast regions are preferred but not required, due to frequent travel supporting the Western region. 
 
Ability to work remotely with frequent national travel, including regular travel to the Western region, is a requirement of the role. 

What You’ll Do – Final Execution, Sales Support & Coaching 

• Deliver compelling, accurate technology demonstrations for advisor and finalist meetings. 
• Prepare and review finalist materials using established playbooks and templates. 
• Partner with sales consultants on discovery, demo scope, and meeting readiness. 
• Provide situational coaching on finalist preparation and demo delivery. 
• Capture and share finalist outcomes and competitive insights. 

What You’ll Do – Marketing & Communications 

• Partner with Marketing to refine and maintain finalist presentations. 
• Share field insights to enhance finalist storytelling and messaging. 
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure accurate capability representation. 
• Contribute feedback supporting RFP messaging and best practices. 
 Assist with maintaining a centralized repository of finalist tools. 

Additional Responsibilities 

• Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives. 
 Participate in pipeline reviews to support deal strategy and readiness. 
• Contribute to sales effectiveness and technology enhancement efforts. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Skills and Background You’ll Need 

 Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience. 
• Minimum 8 years of industry sales experience, including finalist delivery. 
• Strong understanding of defined contribution products and competition. 
• Proven expertise in finalist execution and technology demonstrations. 
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills. 
• Ability to analyze outcomes and recommend improvements. 
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills. 
• Geographic flexibility with preference for Central or West Coast location. 

Additional Requirements 

• Required securities and insurance licensing within 90 days of hire. 
• Frequent national travel with emphasis on the Western region. 
• Ability to deliver in-person and virtual presentations.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

Base: $115,000+ DOE, Guarantee and Incentive
