As an Outsourced - Fractional CFO at our firm, you will primarily be responsible for building/maintaining strong client relationships through the delivery of financials and strategic business advisory via virtual meetings and email. You will supervise a team of associates and are responsible for the team’s performance and success, including reviewing financial reports for accuracy and timeliness.
Additionally, as a trusted advisor to our portfolio of clients, you are responsible for supporting businesses that are going through transformation, growth, process improvement, fundraising, and preparing for transactions such as sales, mergers, and acquisitions. You will provide general accounting guidance to clients, loop in tax specialists as needed, and serve as the liaison between accounting and tax to ensure a seamless transition for the client during year-end and tax preparation. Outsourced - Fraction CFOs will also provide technical input on accounting issues, train and supervise less experienced staff, and create/implement improvements for the team and firm.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
- CPA, EA, MBA, or CMA required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, with 5 years experience as a Senior Accountant overseeing a team of staff accountants recommended
Areas of Responsibility
- Work directly with a high degree of professionalism with executive teams and relevant parties, such as lenders and partners, in the real estate industry to develop and execute financial strategy, calculate and present financials and projections, and serve as a trusted ally to clients
- Addresses client needs agilely, and at times may produce special projects or special purpose financials ad-hoc, especially as clients conduct transactions that are time sensitive
- Supervise a team of staff accountants to ensure quality and timely delivery of products by clearing roadblocks, setting deadlines, managing capacity, and providing training and guidance
- Adhere to professional ethics of the firm and AICPA, including policies regarding client confidentiality
- Create, review, and deliver high-quality and timely financial statements, including dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting to clients while building and maintaining a strong client relationship, recommending additional firm services where appropriate
- Regularly update supervisors, peers, and clients on project status, maintaining prompt (same-day) responsiveness and fostering a culture of accountability
- Assist in various projects throughout the year designed to enhance client/employee experience including, but not limited to, client proposals, process improvements, efficiency and effectiveness committees, and development of training materials
- Lead efficient client onboarding utilizing project management tracking to ensure a smooth, timely and satisfactory client experience, and ensure a clean year-end hand-off of client information to the tax team
- Complete administrative tasks applicable to the role such as maintaining accurate and up to date project information within our project management system, taking and appropriately storing adequate client notes, and adhering to project processes
- Engage in relevant CPE opportunities to continuously enhance technical skills and keep current with evolving accounting processes
