Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Accounting team and report to the VP of Mortgage Financial Reporting. This position will be responsible for day-to-day transactions, month-end reconciliations and various special projects.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Record and reconcile daily cash transactions
  • Perform month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other related entries as needed
  • Support lease accounting under ASC 842, including reporting and rent payments
  • Manage and process broker compensation payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and agreements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with bank deposits and daily Loan Funding and Purchase transactions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the VP of Mortgage Financial Reporting, SVP of Mortgage Finance, and executive leadership

Qualifications, Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of accounting or related experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mortgage or banking environments
  • Familiarity with Encompass and/or Loan Vision systems
