Calling for Payment System integration and Digital Banking end to end solution delivery experience for Sr. Business analyst roles.

It’s an exciting time to be a Senior Business Analyst at People First Bank!  Our team of Business Analysts are at the forefront of shaping the creation of a new bank by working on exciting and complex projects.

We are now offering a unique opportunity for an outcome-driven Senior Business Analyst with strong technical experience across the Payments System integration & Compliance projects, Financial Crimes working in a cross-functional team to deliver digital banking solutions and supporting problem solving activities that promote customer centric intuitive solutions. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to provide end-to-end ownership of requirements and user stories whilst coordinating and supporting problem solving activities that promote customer centric intuitive solutions. You will work collaboratively with business representatives, delivery lead, product owners, and technology leads to add value and drive outcomes across the business. Furthermore, as a Business Analyst, you will actively contribute to the Community of Practice maturity across the team, helping to shape best practices and guide team members.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Lead payments domain analysis, partner with Product Owners and Delivery Leads to ensure solutions deliver measurable customer and business outcomes
  • Collaborating with design and frontline teams to understand problems our customers are experiencing, apply design thinking principles to create user-centric and effective solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end discovery and delivery for complex initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to shape, define, and deliver solutions aligned to business strategy and technical feasibility.
  • Own delivery scoping and requirements definition for complex initiatives, leading story development, customer journeys, and process changes to clearly articulate outcomes, impacts, and rationale for change.
  • Own backlog quality through effective refinement, testable acceptance criteria, and alignment to delivery priorities, and readiness for delivery. 
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, dependencies, and cross‑functional impacts, providing clear recommendations to support decision‑making across business and technology.
  • Support and influence key delivery decisions by evaluating options, trade‑offs, regulatory impacts, and technical constraints.
  • Champion legal and compliance obligations requirements applicable, where required engage with business owner to ensure compliance is met.
  • Key driver to the planning and support business readiness activities. 
  • Define requirements with the business with designing reporting and dashboards that will feed to downstream data and technology teams.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder alignment and resolve competing priorities across business and technology.
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring regulatory traceability and downstream data impacts are considered.
  • Support change, operational readiness, and smooth transition of solutions into BAU
  • Be an active member of the Business Analyst practice to drive improvements in the Business Analyst capability
  • Support the design, implementation, and embedding of development programs for BA cohort.
  • Actively promote continuous improvements to ways of working across the business. 

     

About you 

You are a Senior Business Analyst with solid experience delivering payments related initiatives. Adept at bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions through effective stakeholder engagement, structured analysis and a collaborative approach. You enjoy guiding and sharing knowledge with others and work well with a large team to achieve great outcomes for our customers. 

To be successful in the role, you must have the following skills:

  • A seasoned BA with 8+ experience in all facets of business analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of digital banking products and services, such as onboarding, account origination, payments, lending and digital channels

  • Strong confidence in leading payments and cards solution, technical experience to derive requirements from frontend digital banking solutions to backend systems including payment orchestration layer APIs (e.g. payment gateways, processors, acquirers)

  • Applying your knowledge of Australian banking regulations to satisfy our regulatory obligations within Australian Payments, Cards and Fraud compliance including payment and card scheme requirements

  • The ability to break down complex problems and identify solutions

  • Understanding of API's and experience in creating high level solution designs

  • Experience with the Backbase Digital Banking Platform is highly regarded.

  • In-depth understanding of IT Risk frameworks.

 

Additionally, it’s essential that you have experience with the following:

  • Financial services industry experience 
  • Technical interface specification development
  • Customer centric product development
  • Process analysis and documentation
  • Experience working with customer relationship management software, especially Salesforce CRM, would be highly regarded
  • Be an engaging communicator, comfortable negotiating and influencing your key stakeholder management group.
  • Adaptable and capable in dealing with complexities and ambiguity in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Experience managing multiple activities and issues across numerous projects in a high paced environment.
  • Experience in requirements management, utilizing Agile methodologies and tools including Jira and Confluence. 
  • Enjoys leading and coaching other BAs.
  • Certification such as BABOK, Lean Six Sigma
