Senior PHP(Magento) Developer (Contract, Part-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer with strong Magento expertise to join our team in a support and maintenance-focused role. The ideal candidate has solid experience working with existing eCommerce platforms, a strong understanding of MySQL, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement.

This role is centered around maintaining, supporting, and enhancing existing Magento-based solutions, ensuring stability, performance, and seamless operation of online stores.

Working hours: 4 hours overlap with EST
Workload: Part-time engagement (~20 hours per week, approx. 4 hours per day)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support existing Magento-based eCommerce websites
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve issues in production and staging environments
• Analyze and fix bugs in PHP code and database queries
• Implement minor enhancements and improvements to existing functionality
• Monitor application performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities
• Support integrations with third-party APIs, payment gateways, and shipping services
• Ensure system stability, reliability, and high availability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and deliver continuous improvements

• 6+ years of experience with PHP (core/standard PHP)
• Hands-on experience with Magento
• Proven experience working with online stores / eCommerce platforms
• Solid understanding of MySQL database design and query optimization
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and third-party integrations
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proficiency with GitHub
• Experience working with Gitflow branching strategy
• Understanding of MVC architecture and OOP principles
