Position Summary
The Senior Tax Manager provides strategic leadership across a portfolio of clients and team members. This role oversees complex assessment reviews and appeals, ensures deliverable quality, advances business development, and leads talent development to achieve superior client outcomes and sustained growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead strategy for major clients and complex engagements; represent clients before taxing authorities during appeals and hearings.
Review and approve analyses and client deliverables; enforce quality‑control standards and best practices.
Drive business development: identify and scope opportunities, develop proposals, and communicate DMA’s full suite of services.
Manage key client accounts: strengthen relationships, expand services, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to motivate team members; support performance management and career development.
Participate in talent acquisition and onboarding to build a high‑performing team.
Oversee accurate, timely maintenance of cases, assessments, and jurisdictional information in DMA’s review management system.
Supervise production, billing, invoicing, and engagement profitability.
Track and ensure compliance with all jurisdictional deadlines for filings, audits, appeals, protests, and tax‑payment schedules.
Monitor industry activity, legislation, and court decisions; brief clients and internal leadership on relevant developments.
Operate independently with minimal supervision while fostering strong team collaboration.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
7+ years of professional experience; property tax, valuation, or accounting preferred.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Excellent executive‑level communication; strong strategic and problem‑solving skills.
Strong organizational, research, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Valid driver’s license.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
Travel: 15-25%
