The Test & Measurement Group in Austin is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our DevSecOps team. In this role, you will focus on embedding security into every stage of the software development and delivery lifecycle. You will design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines, apply security best practices, and ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.
You will work closely with development, IT, operations, and security teams to build scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure. Your contributions will include implementing security controls, improving automation, and collaborating across global teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
We are hiring for this position in Austin, Texas. This is 4 days in the office and 1-day remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and improve secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Conduct threat modeling exercises and recommend mitigations.
- Manage Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and other security scanning tools.
- Track, investigate, and assess vulnerabilities across internal systems and applications.
- Define and support SLAs for security compliance and remediation timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into DevOps workflows.
- Participate in risk management activities and security audits.
- Document and promote best practices for DevSecOps operations.

You work well in collaborative settings and take ownership of implementing solutions that improve security and reliability.
Position Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in software engineering and/or DevOps roles.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
- Version control systems (Git)
- Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Solid understanding of networking, cloud platforms, and containerization.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Hold US Citizenship or be a Green Card Holder
Preferred Qualifications (What Sets You Apart)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Threat modeling and risk assessment frameworks.
- Security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning).
- Vulnerability management: tracking, investigating, and remediation.
- Development platform administration (Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise)
- Experience with:
- Container security (Docker, Kubernetes hardening).
- Infrastructure as Code security (Terraform, Ansible).
- Secrets management and identity/access control.
- Strong knowledge of risk management practices and security SLAs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively on security initiatives.
