Job Description

Responsibilities:

Commercial:  

  • Oversee negotiation and execution of complex agreements including client contracts, reseller, distributor, SaaS/cloud agreements, procurement, marketing and partnership agreements. 

  • Develop contract templates, playbooks, fallback provisions and negotiation strategies to improve speed-to-close and consistency. 

  • Drive innovation within the company, including Contract Lifecycle Management implementation and training. 

  • Provide commercial legal support for new service offerings, including generative AI tools and features. 

  • Coordinate with sales operations on efficient commercial contracting processes and go-to-market strategies. 

  • Advise on contract disputes, terminations and enforcement strategies. 

  • Partner with finance on revenue recognition, pricing models and contractual risk provisions. 

  • Support continuous improvements of forms, policies and processes to help streamline and simplify deals and product/service terms

Privacy: 

  • Develop and maintain Revalize’s global privacy program, including policies, procedures, and training. 

  • Maintain subject matter expertise on privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, US state laws, etc.) and advise teams on regulatory requirements. 

  • Collaborate with Information Security on best practices for protecting confidential and personal information. 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements (vendor agreements, customer contracts, DPAs). 

  • Support the broader needs of a growing legal team and business. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree (or foreign equivalent) from a well-regarded law school 

  • Admitted to practice law in the United States with good standing 

  • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience preferably in software industry 

  • In-house experience, ideally at a fast paced, scaling startup 

  • Demonstrate expertise in privacy and data protection issues, with a strong understanding of global privacy laws, including the CCPA and the GDPR 

  • Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, managing ambiguity and multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Have a startup mindset, take ownership, and strike a proper balance of quality and a sense of urgency

The compensation offered to the successful candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s work experience, education and licenses, work-related training, key skills, the core duties of the role and its associated responsibilities, additional benefits offered, and the location where the work will be performed. This is a full-time, bonus eligible position.  Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a range. The listed compensation range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
