This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Strategic Business Developer – Energy in Germany.

This is a high-impact commercial role focused on driving digital transformation within the energy sector, combining strategic consulting, technology expertise, and complex deal-making. You will be responsible for identifying and closing large-scale transformation projects with utilities, grid operators, and energy service providers across Germany. The role goes beyond traditional sales, requiring you to challenge client thinking, bring fresh industry perspectives, and shape new opportunities through data-driven insights. You will work closely with technical and consulting experts to design compelling, end-to-end solutions that address complex industry challenges. Operating in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment, you will build strong C-level relationships and develop a robust pipeline of strategic opportunities. This position is ideal for a commercially driven professional with deep energy sector knowledge and a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Identify, develop, and close large-scale digital transformation and consulting projects in the energy sector, typically in the six- to seven-figure range.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities across utilities, grid operators, and energy service providers in Germany.
  • Engage and challenge senior decision-makers with strategic insights, data-driven perspectives, and innovative solution approaches.
  • Develop and maintain trusted C-level relationships based on expertise, credibility, and value creation.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and delivery teams to shape tailored solutions and ensure successful deal execution.
  • Lead complex sales cycles of 6–12 months, from prospecting through negotiation and closing.
  • Act as a key market voice, bringing industry insights back into internal strategy and solution development.
  • Leverage internal capabilities in data, AI, and engineering to position high-value transformation offerings.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in selling complex consulting, digital transformation, or technology solutions within the energy sector.
  • Strong, active network within the German energy market (utilities, grid operators, or related ecosystem).
  • Demonstrated experience closing large, complex deals with long sales cycles (6–12 months or more).
  • Solid understanding of energy industry topics such as smart grids, energy trading, grid planning, sector coupling, or critical infrastructure regulation.
  • Strong commercial mindset with ability to independently generate and close business.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and executives.
  • High self-motivation, autonomy, and ability to perform in a low-supervision environment.
  • Fluency in German and strong command of English.
  • University degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a consultative selling approach.
