We’re looking for our next Subsidence Specialist: someone that can support, influence and imbed best practice within your teams, share technical knowhow and tactical knowledge to ensure your team leaders have the skills, knowledge and confidence to proactively manage their teams in handling and settling Subsidence claims which will be a caseload of domestic and commercial with various values.



Responsibilities

Within this role, you’ll provide support to Project Manager in progressing our portfolio of claims to completion. The insurance claims will be around 60% domestic and 40 % commercial up to 100K in value.

You’ll be supported by our internal claims handlers and Subsidence Consultants together with other members of the team. Your expertise will principally be to review claims at repair phase, assess scope of works, variation orders and communicate effectively with contractors and other members of the wider Crawford team. You’ll be required to report on specific details, feedback back to our Subsidence teams within specific timeframes to enable the claim to be bought to swift settlement as soon as possible. 

Occasionally visits to properties will be required in order to review and agree works with stakeholders including policy holders, clients and contractors. 



Qualifications

We’re looking for an experienced Surveyor, ideally specialising in Subsidence. You’ll be a repair expert, a go to person who enjoys problem solving and ensuring progression of repairs on a wide portfolio of jobs. You’ll also have/be:

  • Strong knowledge of building repairs, in particular with subsidence affected properties
  • Able to work autonomously with effective communication skills
  • Manage multiple claims simultaneously, ensuring smooth progression
  • Experience of insurance claims handling is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • Able to demonstrate a decisive approach
  • Computer literate with most Microsoft packages
  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of domestic construction
  • Knowledgeable with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
  • Full UK Driving License
