Join our strategic transactions team

Our team is globally responsible for leading all major strategic transactions. We execute on the company's acquisitions and investments, lead integrations, and enhance the company's ability to innovate. We work closely with Akamai's senior executives and Division and Business unit leadership in helping to execute the Company's strategy, and present quarterly to Akamai's Board of Directors.

Partner with the best

In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Akamai's Security Technology Group (STG). Driving strategic growth through acquisitions, investments, and other key transactions. You'll collaborate across business, finance, and product teams to evaluate opportunities, shape business strategy, leading cross-functional execution. You will directly influence Akamai's growth trajectory and strengthen our position as a leader in security innovation.

As a Vice President Corporate Development, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing all aspects of pipeline development, deal leadership, analysis, due diligence, negotiation, issue resolution and performance tracking.
  • Coordinating and facilitating M&A strategy sessions for and with STG senior leadership.
  • Preparing financial models for candidate companies, related transactions, and presenting business cases to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Cultivating a consistent, metric-based approach that enables data driven decisions.
  • Collaborating with functional teams to evaluate and successfully execute opportunities.
  • Leading and developing a high performing team to achieve goals.
  • Managing the performance of the acquisitions you propose, evaluate and execute.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a minimum 15 years' experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or related transactional roles, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Be experience leading all phases of the transaction process including origination, negotiation, execution and measurement.
  • Have experience with M&A strategy development, market and company landscape analyses, and acquisition candidate pipeline development.
  • Have extensive planning, financial and analytical skills with experience in valuation and acquisition pro forma modeling.
  • Have experience developing effective deal structures, risk mitigation and negotiating strategies.
  • Be results-driven with the ability to lead projects to completion on tight timelines.
  • Be a team player with exceptional communication, collaboration and have experience working with executive level stakeholders.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $201,500 - $418,500/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
