We’d love to hear from you 👩‍💻👩🏽‍💻🧑🏿‍💻👨🏻‍💻

Brief overview of this role:

We are looking for a marketing and demand gen leader to 10X our current demand gen engine and infrastructure over the next 3 years, which has been serving us well to date.

Our CEO and former VP of Marketing, then GM and now CRO have built the demand gen engine and infrastructure to date - we have marketing playbooks which work and are predictable which we want to consolidate and continue to drive, and we want new ideas and new channels to supplement and diversify these core channels in an exciting “new world” of marketing.

Due to our no-code and multi-product strategy, you will have an almost infinite amount of use cases to position and drive demand from.

  • You will get a laptop and a budget to set up your home office.

  • You will get additional benefits and support as parents - with paid leave for both primary (min. 16 weeks) and secondary carers (min. 6 weeks) including adoption, as well as support and leave for the tragic circumstances of stillbirth or miscarriage.

  • You will have 20 days PTO, as well as paid compassionate & bereavement leave, sick & carer’s leave, and the ability to work from anywhere for a few weeks per year.

  • Sitemate has grown from 5 employees in 2018 to 150+, and we’re moving into the next stage of growth! We have a product that customers are strongly engaged with, and every month we get 1000s of new leads in our core/target regions with 0 cold calling and limited marketing spend (made possible by strong word-of-mouth and organic marketing efforts).

  • Sitemate’s founders have diverse backgrounds - one coming from engineering on major infrastructure projects; the second coming from product and graphic design. This brings a unique perspective internally where we blend deep industry experience with a passion (obsession) for modern best practices in product design.

  • Sitemate graduated from Australia’s #1 Technology Company Accelerator - Startmate.

  • Sitemate has strong financial backing from Blackbird (Australia and NZ’s #1 Vc), Shearwater Growth Capital & Marbruck Investments.

  • See info on our latest raise here.

What is the working environment like at Sitemate?

  • We are very transparent - monthly Allhands meetings provide the team with direct insight into team updates, customer stories, hiring plans and key metrics (NPS, Revenue, Financial Performance). During this Allhands meeting we also hear one ‘life story’ from one of our team each month - learning about different countries and cultures around the world.

  • We place an extremely high value on your time - you won’t be spending your days wasting time on fighting internal systems, botched together spreadsheet processes or doing data entry.

  • We use best in class systems that are seamlessly integrated to deliver our team the right information at the right time, allowing them to get their work done efficiently and to a very high standard.

  • You will have a core and close team around you, but you will also be exposed to and working directly with multiple departments - engineering, product, design, marketing, sales and customer success.

  • You will have a high degree of autonomy, as the focus is on outcomes and not hours. If you want to block off a few hours to run a personal errand or block off an hour to pick up the kids from school - no worries. No one will be monitoring your time.

  • We are constantly working to minimise the number of group meetings - daily check ins are all done asynchronously (in your own time) each morning. But spontaneous 1:1s or small sessions are strongly encouraged!

What does Sitemate do, exactly?

  • Sitemate builds best in class software products for the built world.

  • Industrial companies operating in the built world are facing a number of mission critical challenges - changes in work behaviour as Generation Z start to enter the workforce as mobile first users of software, and the drastic shift away from traditional mining to renewable energy projects such as wind farms and solar farms.

  • Our first product - Dashpivot, is a platform where industrial style companies streamline and standardise their processes in a new digital format. This new digital format enables them to complete and track work in the field on a mobile or tablet, and automate repetitive tasks and tracking through automated workflows and real-time analytics.

🔧 Day-to-Day

  • Your primary responsibility will be to reverse engineer from an MQL supply ramp schedule, which ramps over 24 months starting from Q1 2025, and drive the inputs required to meet the ramp scheduled requirements.

  • You will have a team consisting of two people on content and one person on marketing operations, however, resourcing can also be discussed based on your assessment of the MQL supply ramp schedule.

  • You will be ensuring our content engineering (SEO) team hits weekly content production SLAs, whilst also ensuring content complies with requirements and passes quality gates (e.g. AI spam content detection score must be cleared).

  • You will be responsible for inheriting a new internal AEO (Answer Engine Optimization, AKA GEO or AIO) framework, launching new teams and processes in-line with this, and then iterating based on what works / does not work.

  • You will be managing paid spend campaigns to load balance supply for each of regional GTM teams.

  • You will work with marketing operations to build enrichment workflows, to lift inbound lead scores automatically, as well as simple nurturing campaigns to pull back through old inbound leads, of which we have >100,000, and we are currently not contacting.

  • You will also be hands on with the team, wherever it makes most sense to do so - this could be writing articles with our content team, optimizing paid campaigns, or working on automation infrastructure and copy within marketing operations.

  • Last but not least, you will do all of the above, with 100% happiness, whilst receiving no thanks from the GTM team… But hey, at least your CEO will appreciate you, because he wrote this job ad and actually knows what you do ;)

⚡ Challenges

  • It will be intense - we’re a scaleup and whilst the MQL ramp schedule builds up over a 12-24 month period, we need to be executing quickly from day 1.

  • There is a large volume of product use cases to ingest and understand, but, once you get the pattern - it’s pretty straightforward.

✅ Who This Role is For

  • This role would be perfect for you if you have a background in SEO (and ideally understand AIO now as well), content production and performance marketing - particularly if you have built foundational infrastructure and systems in these areas.

  • It also suits someone who has tried and succeeded with many different marketing approaches, and who is keen to apply and test these thoughts/playbooks in our market.

  • You might have held a VP of Marketing or CMO position before, but not had an underlying product strategy capable of supporting larger scale and reach - this role would be perfect for you to apply for.

  • You might have held a Senior or Director level role before, and feel like you’re ready for a step up - this role would be perfect for you to apply for.

🚫 Who This Role is Not For

  • Whilst we place a huge amount of value on all things brand - design, architecture and positioning, however at this stage we are not looking for a brand marketer.

  • Someone who doesn’t want to hold an MQL number.

  • Someone who doesn’t like equal parts strategy and execution, everyone including the C-suite at Sitemate are doers.
