The Department of Community Health is seeking a qualified Accountant 3 with the Office of Financial Services within the Division of Financial Management. Under minimal supervision, this role will perform advanced level finance, accounting, and fiscal control functions. In the Benefits Recovery Section of the Office of Financial Services, the Accountant 3 performs and/or oversees documentation and analysis. Accountant 3 will be responsible for preparing Accounting Transaction Receivables from audit findings. Accountant 2 and Accountant 3 will work closely together on these cases. They will work with other Departments such as Hospital Reimbursements, Office of Inspector General, Georgia Medical Care Foundation, Myers and Stauffers and the Georgia Department of Law. The Accountant 3 will be responsible for logging and tracking all cases prepared by keeping spreadsheets updated, in addition to providing customer service and technical program support for an accounting office or related financial function. Also acts as a lead worker.
Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field AND Two years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions Or Four years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR One year of experience at the lower level with the Ability to accurately process requests and recognize errors on requests prior to being processed. Knowledge of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) and knowledge of Medicaid Policies.
