Your mission
Are you ready to shape and implement our financial and accounting processes to support our continued growth? To strengthen our team at deskbird, we are looking for an Accountant (Expertise in Swiss Accounting) who’s ready to scale the financial systems that power our journey. We want to build on your passion for finance, scalable accounting processes, and data management and implementation.
In this role you will
Daily Operations
  • Participate in and review recurring accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, local VAT, and payroll accounting.
  • Perform intercompany and general account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Act as the main point of contact for our external accounting consultant.
  • Support the Head of Accounting and the CFO with both operational and strategic tasks.
Monthly and Annual Financial Statements
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Support the coordination and execution of the annual audit and external financing rounds.
Data Management
  • Maintain vendor master data, including cost centers, ensuring accurate definition and control.
  • Continuously improve the financial accounting data setup to enhance efficiency and scalability.

The scope of your responsibilities can expand based on your interests and qualifications.
Your workload will be at least 60%, with the option to take on more.
What you need to be successful
  • Completed training as an Accounting Clerk or equivalent qualification.
  • Solid knowledge of financial accounting and taxation under Swiss accounting and reporting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Swiss VAT and payroll accounting, ideally in an international environment.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a finance-related role, preferably within a start-up or scale-up setting.
  • A self-driven and collaborative mindset, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
