Role Description

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Finance Team. The AP Accountant plays a key role in processing vendor payments, recording revenue, and monthly close tasks.  This position reports to the Controller, and requires at least three full on-site work days per week.

Responsibilities

• Process revenue and expense transactions in NetSuite software
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliation
• Prepare audit and special project schedules
• Research finance technology innovations that create efficiencies in the functions of this role. 
• Management and payment of credit card, Amazon, and other vendor accounts
• Maintain AP aging report
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service and communication with all staff, volunteers, and vendors

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in accounts payable, general ledger accounting, payroll processing and/or other accounting-related position
• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
• Experience using NetSuite software preferred
• Attention to detail and accuracy are imperative

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

• Regularly sits at a computer station and repetitively enters data transactions
• Typically stands, bends, stoops, and crouches while filing documents manually
• Frequently lifts, carries and positions objects weighing up to 30 lbs when moving supplies and records
• May require weekday overtime and occasional weekend work 
• Consistently exposed to animals and animal allergens under conditions with limited alternatives available

Salary & Benefits

The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. The expected range is $68,000 - 72,000 annually.  Regular, full-time positions are eligible for a benefits package including:
