Position Overview
Consolidated Human Resources ("CHR") is seeking a Director of Benefits to lead our benefits department. This ideal position requires a results-driven leader who will spearhead strategic benefits initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide expert oversight of our benefits team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-5 benefits specialists.
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular team evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining oversight of all benefits operations.
- Lead annual open enrollment processes and employee benefits presentations.
Strategic Benefits Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive benefits strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Conduct in-depth analytical analyses to evaluate benefit plan program effectiveness, cost trends, and employee utilization patterns.
- Lead annual benefits renewals, vendor negotiations, and plan design modifications.
- Benchmark benefits offerings against industry standards and recommend competitive enhancements.
- Manage relationships with benefits brokers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Maintain current expertise in federal, state, and local benefits regulations including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and related legislation.
- Ensure all benefits programs maintain full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Implement timely programming modifications to address regulatory changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field;
- Active Life/Health insurance license (required).
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems, specifically Epic and Prism HR.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits concepts to diverse audiences.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive benefits management experience
- At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience managing benefits teams
- Proven track record of leading benefits strategy development and implementation
- Experience with large-scale benefits implementations and system conversions preferred
- Expert-level experience with Professional Employer Organization (“PEO”) and Administrative Services Organization (“ASO”) model
