Who We Are

At Open Management, we own and operate manufactured housing communities across the United States with a mission to redefine property management and improve affordable housing. We take a hands-on approach that puts residents first, delivering safe, welcoming communities where comfort and connection thrive.

Our experienced team manages everything from leasing and maintenance to financial reporting and resident relations, with a focus on transparency, innovation, and long-term relationships. Guided by our core values - Trust and Integrity, Level 10 Leadership, Extreme Ownership and Collaboration, Relentless Improvement, and Level 10 Customer Service and Professionalism - we are building stronger communities and entering a defining chapter of growth.

As we expand into third-party management and continue scaling nationally, we are seeking a Director of Finance who will help build the financial infrastructure required for our next phase.

The Role

We are seeking a strategic and disciplined Director of Finance to lead and elevate the financial operations of a multi-entity, multi-state real estate portfolio.

This is a high-ownership leadership role responsible for protecting the integrity of our financial reporting while preparing the organization for scalable growth. The Director of Finance will partner closely with executive leadership, oversee a growing accounting team, and ensure that our systems, controls, and forecasting processes support long-term expansion.

This role is Remote in the United States, with periodic travel as needed.

Compensation

Salary Range: $125,000 to $155,000 per year depending on experience

Bonus: Performance-based bonus eligibility

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 4 weeks in your first year
  • Company-Paid Holidays: 15 per year
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance with company-shared coverage
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with company match

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop a 9-person accounting team, including international team members, while reinforcing accountability and performance standards.
  • Oversee multi-entity accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP compliance.
  • Protect and strengthen a disciplined monthly close process.
  • Evaluate and improve systems and internal controls to support scalability and reduce key-person risk.
  • Oversee treasury management, multi-entity cash flow, mortgage payments, property taxes, and insurance obligations.
  • Maintain strong lender relationships, monitor debt balances, and ensure compliance with debt covenants.
  • Partner with executive leadership on forecasting, financial planning, and long-term growth strategy.
  • Support financial integration of acquisitions and expansion into third-party management.
  • Lead ERP evaluations, improvements, or upgrades as necessary.
  • Oversee coordination with external CPA firms and tax advisors.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience in finance or accounting within a multi-entity environment. Real estate experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and deep understanding of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teams.
  • Experience overseeing cash flow, treasury functions, and debt compliance.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-growing environment where structure is being built and refined.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain discipline during audits, month-end, acquisitions, and periods of transition.
  • A proactive leader who challenges the status quo and identifies scalable improvements to systems and processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership and operational teams.

How To Apply

As you have probably gathered by now, we are not your typical corporate-style company. We like to do things a little differently, and that includes how we interview and hire.

  • Along with your resume, submit your cover letter and anything else that helps us understand who you are and how you think.
  • That could include a Loom video, a one-page overview, a creative pitch deck, or all of the above.
  • We are not looking for perfect. We are looking for you.
