SUMMARY

The Field Sales Representative (FSR) is responsible for visiting, calling, recruiting, contracting, training, and supporting IHC Specialty Benefits, Inc.’s (SB) prospective and contracted producers as directed by the Chief Business Officer (CBO). The FSR will work with producers to promote individual and family health (ACA), small group, self-funded, short-term medical (STM), and dental insurance, to facilitate Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (IHCRAs), and market any other programs distributed by SB, with an emphasis on achieving SB’s stated sales goals. This position also is responsible for increasing producer adoption of the EDE platform offered by SB’s affiliate, INSXCloud, Inc. This is a base plus sales bonus opportunity. The base salary range is $75,000 to $90,000 with additional bonus opportunities. Currently looking in the following states: Florida, Iowa, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On behalf of the CBO, clearly articulate SB’s value proposition to SB-contracted producers and perform one-on-one in-person, telephonic and web-based product and platform training on INSXCloud, our affiliate’s proprietary Enhanced Direct Enrollment platform.
  • Focus on highly productive individual health insurance producers and large regional agencies in your region.
  • Promote INSXCloud’s platform usage among assigned producers and newly recruited producers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with producers to uncover client needs, provide solutions, and increase sales.
  • Whenever possible, champion the customer by consistently providing outstanding customer service and work ethic.
  • Act as a general liaison between SB corporate and distribution.
  • Recruit, contract, and train new producers that are not currently in the SB sales hierarchy.
  • Cultivate deep relationships with producers in the FSR’s regional market.
  • Identify sales opportunities unique to each producer assigned to the FSR; transfer knowledge of the product lines that SB sells with the goal to set up sell in the best interest of the consumer and the producer.
  • According to established measurement time periods, demonstrate increased sales within the group of producers assigned.
  • Document outcome of each producer’s contact in Sales’ management software.
  • Facilitate assigned producers’ licensing and contracting/appointment.
  • Follow specified instructions in the delivery of sales messages, uncovering producers’ needs.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and solve business problems; leverage appropriate problem solving/analysis tools and/or resources for resolution.
  • Coach producers to adapt accurate and comfortable marketing and sales techniques to close more sales of products and services offered by SB.
  • Perform similar job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years of experience in a health insurance sales and marketing environment. 
  • Previous experience in a health insurance environment, working with and presenting a variety of plan types and insurance products preferred.
  • Understanding of individual health plans, short-term medical plans and ancillary benefits a plus.
  • Telephone Sales or outbound call center experience preferred.
  • Comfortable on Telephone - excellent professional telephone skills and etiquette.
  • Strong customer service and People Skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong PC Skills, using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and presentation software.
  • Excellent project management and organization skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and projects.
  • Current state insurance license preferred.
    • If hired, attainment of insurance producer license and certification to enroll plans on Healthcare.gov (also called FFM Certification) within 6 months is required.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

  • The base pay range for this work is $75,000 - $90,000 per year.  Final offer amounts are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
  • Employees in this role are eligible to participate in the Field Sales Representative production incentive bonus program. Total potential compensation varies by production: – base salary and bonus opportunities can add up to $120,000/yr. with potential for more.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life and disability as well as 401k and Paid Time Off.

  • Certificates or designations from industry organizations such as LOMA, AHIP, or AICP highly desired.
