MLAHMC is the largest Aboriginal housing management organisation in NSW, managing more than 600 properties across regional and remote communities. The organisation exists to strengthen and empower Aboriginal families and communities through quality, sustainable housing and related services.
Bloom have partnered with MLAHMC to recruit a Finance and Corporate Services Manager; a strategic and experienced member of the executive team who will oversee finance, HR, ICT, risk, and compliance functions.
Reporting to the CEO, this role plays a key part in ensuring financial sustainability, business continuity and compliance across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgets, forecasts, reporting, cashflow and audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory obligations, and funding requirements.
- Manage payroll and related payments and obligations (Employment Hero).
- Oversee key procurement, insurances, ICT and HR licensing.
- Maintain risk and compliance frameworks, audit readiness, and evidence collation for regulatory and registration submissions.
- Lead and support a small team of finance and compliance staff.
- Provide strategic advice and reports to the CEO to support sound decision making and business improvement.
- Representing MLAHMC externally with auditors, regulators, and funding bodies.
- Partner with the CEO to drive organisational efficiency, compliance and sustainability.
About you
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and detailed oriented financial leader who combines analytical precision with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and community impact.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce and CA/CPA qualification (or working towards.)
- Experience, or ready to step into, the most senior finance role in a purpose driven organisation.
- Proven leadership experience or exposure to finance and corporate services within a NFP, NGO or similar structured organisation.
- Strong understanding of governance, audit and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands on delivery.
- A genuine respect for Aboriginal culture and commitment to community outcomes.
- National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
