Job Description

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Business Partner (FBP) to join our growing Finance team. This strategic role will serve as a trusted advisor to divisional and practice leaders across J.S. Held, aligning closely with our Divisions and Practices to drive performance, support growth, and enhance decision-making. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the FBP will be deeply integrated into their assigned Division, acting as a bridge between Finance and the business by delivering insights, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that financial goals are aligned with strategy. Each of J.S. Held’s three Divisions will have a dedicated FBP to provide tailored support and connect divisional leaders to the broader capabilities of the Finance function. To reflect the importance and impact of this role, we are considering candidates at the Manager, Senior Manager, or Director level, depending on experience and capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Track financial performance, provide accurate reporting, and support budgeting/forecasting in partnership with FP&A.
  • Analyze results, highlight risks and opportunities, and provide insights that guide business strategy and decisions.
  • Partner with business leaders to align strategies with financial goals and drive profitable performance.
  • Support the month-end close process and collaborate with Accounting, Billing, and Collections on issue resolution.
  • Build and apply financial models, ROI assessments, and scenario analyses for initiatives and investments.
  • Communicate financial insights clearly and intuitively, simplifying data to focus on what matters most.
  • Collaborate across Finance, HR, and Operations to optimize resources, headcount planning, and compensation decisions.
  • Leverage Finance team resources and tools to improve reporting, controls, and decision support.
  • Engage with senior leadership, demonstrating thought leadership and influencing outcomes through alternative recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA/CPA a plus).
  • M&A experience is a plus.
  • 7+ years of Professional or business services (consulting, financial, legal, etc.) or Divisional Finance experience, including experience working for a global organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear and actionable way.
  • Comfort working with senior leadership and influencing decision-making.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships across functions.

 

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel periodically as needed.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $125,000 - $175,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
