Finance Functional Analyst

Salary Range:

Finance Functional Analyst (Grade 15, Exempt). Annual salary range: $86,560 - $108,200. This range reflects the minimum to midpoint of the grade. Salary may exceed the midpoint and will commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary:

The Finance Functional Analyst is responsible for taking part in administration, analysis, and continuous improvement of the Finance operations programs. This role includes day-to-day functional support, business requirements gathering, experience design, isolated Finance configuration, assistance with backlog maintenance and refinement, process optimization, basic to intermediate reporting and data management and accuracy monitoring, system updates and testing, end-user enablement, and continuous improvement. This position will serve as a member of the Finance team, working collaboratively with team members across the broader team to empower a high level of client satisfaction and strong insights driving program development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases.

  • Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.

  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.

  • Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.

  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.

  • Support specific technology implementation processes, aiding in the optimization of technology use.

  • Investigate, analyze, design, and test small changes to financial systems. Provide second-line support to users.

  • Identify, elicit, and document project/process requirements, using appropriate modeling technique, if required. Analyze requirements and validate with original users, eliminating confusion. Define the testing scripts and verification criteria to ensure requirements are met. Maintain documentation and traceability throughout project.

  • Support collection of business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis, to express requirements clearly and succinctly.

  • Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.

  • Contribute to development of existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Contribute to development of new applications to meet customer requirements.

  • Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.

  • Build collaborative relationships focusing on building internal and external networks that facilitate collaboration and partnerships across the value chain. Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Location:

  • This is a remote position, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.

  • On occasion, may be asked to travel to Staples, MN for meetings, professional development or team activities, up to two to three (2-3) times per year. Notice will be given ahead of time.

Additional Job Description:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, computer science, or related field OR a combination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to four (4) years.

  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, or related analyst role.
