About Us
Our team is fully remote and growing quickly, and we’re looking for a reliable fractional IT consultant to help manage and maintain our internal technology environment. We are specifically looking for someone comfortable working independently in a fractional IT role for a fast-growing company.
This role replaces an outgoing contractor and is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting small, fast-moving teams while keeping systems secure, organized, and running smoothly.
Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator / IT Manager (Consultant) to oversee our core internal technology systems, provide occasional help desk support, and ensure our cloud infrastructure remains secure and well managed.
This role is expected to average 10–15 hours per month, with occasional additional hours during onboarding periods or special projects.
You’ll work closely with company leadership and serve as our go-to resource for IT operations, security, and device management.
Core Responsibilities
Help Desk & User Support
- Provide help desk support for our remote team (~20–25 users)
- Troubleshoot user issues related to email, device access, file sharing, and authentication
- Support employee onboarding/offboarding for technology access
- Assist with laptop setup, configuration, and security
Microsoft 365 Administration
Manage and maintain our Microsoft 365 environment, including:
- User & identity management
- Exchange administration
- SharePoint & OneDrive permissions and structure
- Security and authentication policies
Device Management
- Manage laptops and mobile devices through JAMF
- Configure new employee devices
- Ensure device compliance and security standards
Backup & Security
- Manage and monitor cloud backup and recovery systems
- Ensure key data sources are properly backed up
- Assist with security best practices and periodic reviews
Domain & Infrastructure Management
- Maintain DNS configuration and domain records
- Troubleshoot domain/email related issues
- Support integrations across our SaaS tools when needed
Ideal Experience
We’re looking for someone who has experience supporting modern cloud-based companies.
Preferred skills include:
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Identity & access management
- JAMF device management
- Cloud backup systems
- DNS and domain management
- Experience supporting remote teams
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Bonus experience:
- SaaS stack administration (Slack, Salesforce, etc.)
- Security audits or compliance support
- IT documentation and system organization
