Summary:


Anaconda is seeking a talented  Global Tax and Compliance Director to lead our global tax function. This newly created role is a unique opportunity to build a scalable and efficient tax strategy that supports a high-growth, international SaaS business. You will partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure compliance across jurisdictions, manage transfer pricing, and contribute to global tax optimization and long-term scalability.

What You'll Do:
Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Own and manage all aspects of U.S. federal, state, and international income tax compliance, including returns, filings, and audits.
  • Oversee global indirect tax compliance (VAT, GST, sales/use tax) across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate registration, reporting, and remittance.
  • Coordinate global sales tax nexus and registration strategies, particularly for software and digital products.

Transfer Pricing & Global Structuring

  • Manage transfer pricing arrangements between U.S. headquarters and international subsidiaries.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions to ensure proper treatment from both tax and accounting perspectives.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to review and enhance global tax structure and ensure tax efficiency across the organization.

Strategic Tax Planning

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to support the company's path to profitability.
  • Advise on stock option taxation and compliance, including reporting and withholding obligations for U.S. and international employees.
  • Evaluate the tax impact of international expansion, entity structuring, and cross-border employee arrangements.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Design and implement scalable internal processes to support ongoing compliance, audits, and reporting.
  • Support ASC 740 tax provision reporting (or coordinate with external firms as appropriate).
  • Serve as the point of contact for all tax authority communications globally.
What You Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in tax, including time in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax function.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and international tax principles, including transfer pricing and indirect taxes.
  • Experience supporting stock-based compensation and global employee tax matters.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset; able to partner cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Prior experience in a SaaS or software company.
  • Exposure to PEO/EOR arrangements and cross-border payroll/tax compliance.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and tax engines (NetSuite, Anrok) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience working in an open-source, AI, or data science-oriented company.

The base salary range for this role is $197,500 - $256,750 for candidates in New York City and San Francisco, and $148,500 - $218,250 for other US-based team members, along with annual bonus potential, equity participation, and benefits.


Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
