Description

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support which includes driving the effective execution of HR processes including talent management, performance management and associate engagement. This position provides coaching and guidance to management and associates and recommends solutions to business issues. The HR Generalist will partner closely with HRBPs and other HR functions to provide solutions that drive the company’s success.  The HR Generalist is approachable, adaptable to changing priorities and business needs and is solutions oriented.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development, delivery and coordination of HR and company initiatives and compliance activities such as UI Claims, Employment Letters, Immigration Processing, I9 compliance, LOA, etc.
  • Collaborate with Senior HR Managers and Senior HR Business Partners to develop programs and processes that promote a positive work environment. Create employee engagement plans and participate in the development of department goals and objectives and execute plans to meet these goals.  Conduct pro-active employee relations activities such as structured feedback sessions and employee recognition programs.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Partners to support position management and/or recruiting efforts including but not limited to: data management, marketplace strategy for recruitment, job description development/review, attending local job fairs and trade shows, confirm screening requirements with hiring managers for open positions, contingent labor process and assist with advertising and posting of job positions.
  • Ensure appropriate onboarding process of new employees and partner with HR teams and leaders to implement and execute onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations.
  • Counsel managers, supervisors, and employees about on-the-job and formal training opportunities to develop new skills and prepare for advancement. Support managers in preparing Professional Growth Plans.
  • Manage location-based annual Affirmative Action Plans. Ensure good faith outreach effort compliance, sharing openings with appropriate recruiting sources and educating managers on proper interviewing, selection, and recordkeeping guidelines.
  • Participate in interactive discussions with employees in compliance with ADA and support the Workers Compensation Program.
  • Advise supervisors and managers on application of Company policies to ensure consistency and accurate policy interpretation interdepartmentally.

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study: Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in related field
  • Type of Experience:
    • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills to interact with colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.
    • 3+ years of work experience in the HR field including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, onboarding / offboarding, record keeping and compliance
    • Preferred: Oracle HCM experience; experience generating regular and ad-hoc reports tailored to HR metrics
  • Special Certifications:  PHR, SPHR or GPHR
  • Technical Competencies & Information Systems:

    • HRM Systems (Oracle, Workday, etc.)
