The LBS Employment Tax Senior Accountant is responsible for the oversight of companywide employment tax management including: withholding, remitting, reporting, and balancing of state and local withholding taxes on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and/or quarterly basis. Responsible for reporting unemployment wages and the associated taxes due. Responsible for state unemployment taxes and returns.
How you’ll contribute
A LBS Employment Tax Senior Accountant who excels in this role:
Prepare and make weekly payments (state withholding taxes), prepare and make quarterly payments (state and local taxes).
Prepare next day, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual state income tax withholding payments, returns and reconciliations.
Prepare quarterly state unemployment tax returns and payments; amend returns as necessary.
Prepare and make quarterly state unemployment taxes and upload wage detail as required.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual local tax returns, tax payments and reconciliations.
Prepare registrations for new facilities with the IRS, state, and local taxing jurisdictions; respond to notices, audits and information requests from federal, state and local jurisdictions.
Reconcile accounts and balance to quarterly reports.
Research state and local reconciliation variances and prepare corrected W2s as necessary.
Maintain required level of technical knowledge and remain current on applicable on tax regulations.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a High School Diploma required or Associate Degree preferred. Additional requirements include minimum 5 years or more of experience in accounting, payroll or employment tax required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
