Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our UK team. In this role you will collaborate closely across departments, helping to shape and deliver a unified financial strategy that supports our shared business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger
By working with the Finance Manager and their transactional teams, ensuring that the General Ledger for Revenue and Costs, is monitored and reported weekly, to established timetables and to enable management and financial reporting deadlines to be hit
Reviewing and controlling bank reconciliation process in Sage 200
Reconcile all balance sheet codes, control accounts monthly, quarterly or annually as appropriate. Major areas include sales ledger control, purchase ledger control, accrued and deferred trading income/costs, inter-company accounts and tax/salary control.
Processing, reconciling and controlling fixed asset ledger and associated entries.
Preparation of revenue recognition routines weekly and monthly
Budgeting & Forecasting
To help prepare and maintain budgets, including preparation of high-quality analysis and meaningful comparisons to budget, to support the Financial Controller as required to established timetables
Developing a monthly rolling forecast with variance analysis to budget to provide insight to stakeholders
Weekly cashflow forecasting
Monthly detailed cost variance analysis with supporting commentary
Prepayment and Accruals
Group Reporting
Preparing (and reviewing where relevant) of all reporting issued to the business, ensuring that the reporting of results meets stakeholder needs.
Produce detailed analysis of group overheads monthly and support the Financial Controller, with controlling budgets and understanding trends
Undertaking business partnering-like activity through extending and developing reporting and KPIs for business activity through working with the Financial Controller to understand requirements
Payroll
To reconcile monthly payroll reports before and after processing by the external payroll provider
Tax, Statutory reporting and external Audit
Acting as a key contact in the statutory audit process, working closely with the wider team as required
Ensuring that all compliance returns (e.g. VAT, P11D etc) and any other submissions are accurately completed and filled on time
Managing the external reporting requirements for the US subsidiary company
Process & Controls
Developing and maintaining consistent accounting processes and controls, whilst continually looking for efficiencies and improvements.
Systems
Assisting the FC to prepare the relevant document required for new system implementations
What You Will Bring
Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or an individual in the latter stages of qualification with a significant level of experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within companies inthe transition, undergoing growth and business transformation / integration.
Ability to liaise with people at all levels of seniority.
Ability to work to strict reporting deadlines for weekly and month end requirements
Experience of working within a group ownership structure, managing reporting of monthly financial information in a predefined format and calendar
Experience leading a finance department through an ERP migration is an advantage
SaaS experience is an advantage
Advanced excel skills
Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude, ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands on approach
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to engage non-Finance colleagues and drive change.
