People Operations Specialist

The People Operations Specialist is responsible for facilitating human resource processes in the People Department. This role acts as a liaison between employees, management, and vendors to create a positive employee experience, resolve benefits related problems, and HRIS user issues. In addition, this role provides support to the office.
Essential Functions
- Onboard new hires using HRIS and background screening software, verify I-9 documentation and maintain eligibility documentation
- Maintain employee files and HRIS records, follow checklists to ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
- Conduct new employee orientation program and educate new hires on benefit offerings, company policies and procedures
- Assist in projects, such as HR events, benefits open enrollment, employee communications
- Research, plan and execute all company-wide employee events that excite employees and align with company culture
- Administer benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Process pending benefit notifications and ensure the benefit system is up to date
- Answer employee benefit questions, resolving benefit issues and identifying new perks and benefits
- Assist recruiting teams with administrative duties including initiating internal transfer offer letters, submitting request to fill forms for executive level approval.
- Administer leave programs (FMLA, Maternity, Parental, Personal)
- Assist executive-level staff with administrative duties as needed, such as meeting scheduling.
- Communicate and coordinate building requests to property management.
- Advise hiring managers on human resource best practices
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics
- Handle sensitive information and preserve confidentiality with discretion
- Perform other HR/office tasks as assigned!
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years’ experience in human resources, benefits and/or recruiting required
- Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal communication and meeting deadlines
- Ability to prioritize tasks that change frequently and manage unexpected demands
- Organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
- Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential information
- Dependable, able to follow instructions and respond well to direction
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter
- HRIS experience. Experience using Rippling strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook

This position is open to US residents only.
The targeted salary range for this position is $37,500 - $51,900.
The posted salary range for this position may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; internal pay equity; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
