Strategic Staffing Solutions client - a global electronics manufacturer - is seeking a new member - PEX Manager
Position Overview:
Lead environmental and material compliance for the company's component portfolio, ensuring full adherence to global regulatory requirements and customer-specific standards. Oversee restricted substance programs, maintain accurate material declarations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Legal, and Quality teams to embed environmental compliance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor, interpret, and implement environmental regulations relevant to electronic components, including:
- Conflict Minerals
- RoHS, REACH (SVHC & Annex XVII)
- WEEE, ELV
- TSCA, Prop 65, and other global chemical regulations
- IEC, JEDEC, IPC compliance standards (e.g., IPC-1752A)
- POPs, SCIP, CBAM etc.
- Develop internal policies and procedures to ensure sustained compliance for high-volume, multi-SKU electronic component lines.
- Provide expert guidance to engineering, quality, and product management on regulatory impacts and design-for-compliance considerations.
- Develop and deliver training programs for internal stakeholders covering environmental regulations and label requirements (e.g., CE, RoHS, REACH, Prop 65)
- Conduct substance impact analyses and support material substitution/redesign for restricted chemicals
- Lead investigations into non-compliance and remediation initiatives
Supplier Compliance:
- Collaborate with global suppliers to obtain accurate and complete materials data, including chemical composition and test reports.
- Conduct supplier audits to verify adherence to RoHS, REACH, halogen-free, and material purity requirements.
- Support supplier development activities to improve data quality and compliance readiness.
- Compliance Systems and Reporting:
- Maintain internal compliance databases (e.g., Assent, 3E Toxnot, or equivalent systems)
- Support customer reporting portals and respond to environmental compliance questionnaires, audits and inquiries.
- Track and report environmental KPIs such as % RoHS-compliant SKUs, supplier data completion rates, and new regulatory impacts.
- Ensure accurate regulatory filings, technical dossiers, and substance reporting to authorities
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams to embed compliance in component design and production
- Work with operations and manufacturing to ensure material changes and process updates remain compliant.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service to provide technical compliance support to customers.
