What you will be doing in the role of a Product Manager, Digital Marketing & Web
At Susan G Komen, we leverage various business solutions across our organization to facilitate day-to-day operations. These business solutions traverse many departments and business processes, ranging from large enterprise platforms to 'home-grown' solutions. As a Product Manager, you'll play an integral role in ensuring that we're using the right business solutions to their full potential to meet ongoing business needs and support our corporate mission. This position will work in lockstep with application and domain leaders to create a clear strategic direction that the product development team will deliver. You will work with a team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements and deliver product features and functions by balancing customer needs with business strategy and minimizing defects and technical debt.
The person in this role will report to the Product Management Director and interact with key stakeholders from across the organization, including Marketing, Community Development, Mission, Operations IT, and more. These groups leverage marketing technology solutions to reach our constituents via email, text, social media, etc.
What you will bring to the table
- Vision and Alignment:
- Partner with key stakeholders to establish the product vision, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align product considerations with the overall vision, features, and roadmap.
- Leverage customer insights, feedback, financials, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmap.
- Documentation and Requirements:
- Collaborate with staff and external partners to create and maintain key product documentation, including customer journey map, process mapping, user stories, etc.
- Identify and define key non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance) to achieve the organizational review growth.
- Product Backlog and Quality Assurance:
- Build and prioritize product backlog to achieve OKRs.
- Continuously update the backlog through meetings with stakeholders and the product team.
- Ensure product adherence to high-quality standards.
- Functional and Non-Functional Requirements:
- Define functional and non-functional product requirements for the IT team.
- Validate user story acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with data stewards to ensure data quality controls are implemented.
- Strategic Partnerships and Dependencies:
- Manage dependencies with cross-functional teams while identifying and building strategic partnerships.
- Regularly participate in product meetings and communicate with stakeholders to align goals and vision.
- Change Implementation:
- Actively participate in implementing changes, such as creating reports and providing training and documentation.
- Optimizing Business Processes:
- Contribute to optimizing business processes and the effective use of solutions to meet company objectives.
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with stakeholders, presenting ideas, facilitating discussions, and documenting product requirements.
- Adaptability:
- The ability to adapt and iterate to changing priorities, requirements, and organizational needs is crucial.
- Empathy:
- Understanding the needs of users, stakeholders, and team members is essential for creating user-centric solutions.
- Collaboration:
- Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (including engineers, designers, and business leaders) and build strategic partnerships.
- Problem-Solving:
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary for addressing complex challenges.
- Leadership:
- Inspiring and motivating key stakeholders toward a common goal is key to success.
- Consultative Approach:
- Engage with stakeholders through active listening, open, collaborative dialogue, and probing questions to deeply understand their needs, pain points, and objectives. Provide expert guidance and recommendations based on this understanding.

We know you will have and be able to
- At least 5 years of related work experience and a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or related discipline).
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused organization.
- Experience with the following platforms: Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and WordPress.
- Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) for backlog management and collaboration.
- Understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile, Kanban).
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools to track product performance.
- Experience working with and integrating with CRM, Email & Reporting platforms is a plus.
- Creative and strategic thinking.
- Attention to detail.
- No travel is required, other than a potential once a year all staff meeting.

- Competitive salary of $74,000 to $100,000/annual, exact compensation ranges are based on a range of factors including but not limited to the labor market, job level, internal equity, and budget. Offers given will take into consideration the candidate's skills, education, experience, geographic location, and other necessary credentials.

Komen provides a remote and/or home-based working environment for all active employees.
