As one of the fastest-growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we’re looking for an experienced FRACTIONAL ACCOUNTANT (1099). 

The Fractional Accountant will provide ongoing project-based consulting accounting services at approximately 20 hours a week and will report directly to the Corporate Controller that will include the following position responsibilities:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with monthly financial close including completion of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and preparation of analyses to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Preparing and managing general ledger entries.
  • Reconciling financial statements.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Reviewing cash deposits and preparing cash receipt journal entries.
  • Reconciling bank statements.
  • Interpreting and analyzing financial information.
  • Recording monthly and annual processes.
  • Posting journal entries in the accounting system.
  • Tracking and maintaining fixed asset ledger.
  • Reporting fluctuations and variances with explanations.
  • Assisting the Controller with accounting issues and queries.
  • Responsible for accounting analysis, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal accounting staff to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting/accounting transactions.
  • Adhering to accounting standards, regulations, company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ public audit experience.
  • Excellent financial analysis skills.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently (without supervision) as well as with a team.
