Research Finance Associate/Executive Assistant (Project Manager 1)
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Project Manager 1 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Project Manager 1 (H) oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a variety of projects to ensure the successful development, completion, and implementation of department projects and initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Defines the scope of projects in conjunction with leadership.
Discusses the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
Determines the resources required to complete each project.
Establishes and documents comprehensive project plans and timelines, which identify and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete projects.
Reviews project schedules with leadership and other staff that will be affected by the project activities.
Monitors the progress of the projects and makes adjustments to ensure successful completion.
Consults with the appropriate leadership on the selection of staff to assist with projects.
Assigns project task to the identified project team for handling.
Department Specific Functions
Provide comprehensive administrative, operational, and research support for the leadership of Neuromuscular Division and ALS Center.
Manage calendars, travel, recredentialing documentation, and medical and related license renewals.
Maintain faculty CVs, biosketches, Other Support, and NCBI bibliographies; support manuscript and grant submissions as needed.
Coordinate faculty onboarding, recruitment activities, invited speakers, and CME documentation.
Support HR functions such as job postings, applicant screening, visa sponsorship coordination, personnel tracking, and Workday performance evaluations.
Manage financial and administrative tasks (e.g., account reconciliation, donations tracking, vendor invoices).
Support research administration activities including pre- and post-award support, subcontract and invoice tracking, progress reports, and collaboration agreements.
Coordinate meetings, events, and workshops.
Maintain program communications including websites, email inboxes, and social media accounts.
Provide administrative support for consortia and large-scale initiatives, including meeting coordination and follow-up activities.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
