The Senior Accountant of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, analyzing technical accounting issues and preparing white papers. This role will report to the manager of financial reporting and technical accounting and will frequently interact with the broader accounting team to support the monthly financial close process in certain areas, such as equity. In addition, the senior accountant will assist stakeholders across various internal teams, including but not limited to strategic finance, capital markets, treasury, and legal by providing technical accounting expertise.

Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly investor reporting requirements, such as monthly financial statements and covenant calculations.
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures and MD&A, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and disclosure requirements and perform and maintain complete tie-out documentation
Assist in the preparation of portions of the U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists
Assist with external auditors regarding the audit process, responding to inquiries, preparing audit schedules and documentation accurately and on time
Perform ad hoc disclosure benchmarking research of peer group companies
Assist in setting and maintaining compliance with SOX requirements, primarily in the review of unusual transactions and financial reporting process
Technical Accounting
Research and analyze complex accounting issues and new accounting pronouncements (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 310, ASC 718, ASC 805)
Perform initial research, interpretation and preparation/drafting of technical accounting white papers on new business initiatives, deal structures and complex accounting topics
Assist with maintaining comprehensive accounting policies and procedures, ensuring they are well-documented, effectively communicated, and consistently applied across the organization
3+ years of experience in financial reporting/technical accounting or auditing including public accounting experience, big 4 accounting firm a plus
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance-related field of study
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Ability to work collaboratively with various teams at DailyPay
Self-motivated, proactive, highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience researching technical accounting issues and preparing white papers
Proven project management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines
Experience with NetSuite & Workiva a plus
CPA a plus
