Introduction

We're looking for a highly skilled Senior E-commerce Data Analyst to build robust reporting systems and conduct deep-dive analysis across our Amazon, Shopify and other marketplace sales channels. In this role, you'll lead the development of automated dashboards, uncover insights to drive growth, and provide data-backed recommendations to improve performance across product, pricing, subscription, and channel metrics.

This is a high-impact position that reports directly to leadership and collaborates closely with our growth, product, and operations teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard & Reporting Development

• Build automated weekly performance dashboards using available BI tools and data platforms 

• Standardize KPIs across Amazon and Shopify to enable consistent reporting 

• Set up alert systems to flag unusual dips/spikes in key metrics

Deep-Dive Analytics & Insights

• Conduct price sensitivity analyses to optimize pricing strategies across 50+ SKUs, directly impacting margin and velocity decisions 

• Evaluate promotional campaign impacts across organic and paid channels 

• Perform attribution modeling to segment sales performance (organic vs. paid) 

• Execute cohort analyses to measure subscription behavior and LTV 

• Segment product performance by category, size, frequency, and other variables

Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership

• Present weekly data insights and recommendations to leadership team 

• Lead monthly business review meetings with cross-functional teams (growth, operations, product) 

• Train team members on dashboard usage and self-service analytics 

• Collaborate with marketplace specialists to translate data findings into actionable strategies 

• Partner with marketing managers to optimize campaign performance based on attribution analysis

Advanced Business Intelligence

• Monitor conversion rate trends by SKU, size, and customer acquisition channel 

• Track inventory velocity and identify slow-moving products requiring promotional support 

• Analyze customer lifetime value and repeat purchase behavior across subscription vs. one-time buyers 

• Create cost analysis reports including COGS, shipping, and fulfillment expenses by channel 

• Build competitive pricing intelligence and margin optimization models 

• Develop predictive models for demand forecasting and inventory planning 

• Build profitability tracking tools to monitor shipping costs, 3PL expenses, and overall unit economics

Multi-Brand Portfolio Analysis

• Create brand performance comparisons across our pet product portfolio 

• Identify cross-selling opportunities and customer overlap between brands 

• Analyze seasonal trends and promotional effectiveness by brand and product category

Desired Experience & Qualification

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 3+ years of experience in a senior data analyst or insights-focused role 

• Proficient in SQL including JOINs, subqueries, window functions, and data aggregation across large e-commerce datasets 

• Experience writing complex queries for sales performance, inventory analysis, and customer segmentation 

• Experience with e-commerce analytics platforms (Triple Whale, Peel preferred) or equivalent BI tools such as Looker or Tableau 

• Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central and Shopify analytics APIs 

• Experience conducting statistical analysis for A/B tests and significance testing

E-commerce Domain Expertise

• Proven track record analyzing Amazon marketplace performance, including BSR, keyword rankings, and ad vs. organic dynamics 

• Experience in Shopify/DTC data environments, especially for subscription-based commerce 

• Ability to interpret and communicate complex data to non-technical stakeholders 

• Experience with attribution modeling in multi-channel eCommerce environments

Nice to Have

• Python or R for statistical modeling or advanced analytics 

• Familiarity with data pipeline tools (e.g., Fivetran, Stitch) 

• Experience working across multiple eCommerce brands or marketplaces 

• Pet products or consumer goods industry experience
