TAG is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to support acquisition accounting, technical accounting, and the multi-entity consolidation process.
Key Responsibilities
Acquisition & Integration
- Lead purchase accounting and preparation of Opening Balance Sheets (OBS) in accordance with ASC 805.
- Develop OBS models and coordinate with external valuation specialists.
- Record acquisition entries, including Investment in Subsidiary, and support post-acquisition reviews.
- Perform Net Working Capital analyses and calculate purchase price adjustments.
- Align acquired companies’ accounting practices and chart of accounts with TAG standards.
- Support acquisition-related accruals (insurance, bonus, and other required estimates).
Technical & Consolidation
- Support monthly and quarterly consolidation, including intercompany and investment eliminations.
- Assist with company-wide inventory valuation.
- Prepare and reconcile key accounts, including leases (ASC 842), fixed assets, fleet, debt, stock-based compensation, inventory, and investments in subsidiaries.
- Prepare the annual audited financial statement workbook and related GAAP footnotes.
- Research and document technical accounting matters and new pronouncements, including going concern, goodwill impairment, revenue recognition, etc.
- Serve as liaison with external auditors.
- Assist with process improvements and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including acquisition and technical accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience supporting a multi-entity consolidation process.
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
- Experience preparing financial statement footnotes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
