Job Summary: The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reporting infrastructure using C# and SQL. This role involves enhancing existing reporting systems, contributing to improvements in data analytics, and staying current with trends in data visualization. The engineer works within Agile teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Report Development

Shift: Generally Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm CST. This role is primarily performed remotely, though Kansas City Metro employees may be required to work on-campus periodically according to business need. Generally, all positions may be performed on-campus. Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is an essential function of every job at ScriptPro.   

Scope of the Role:

  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements for reports
  • Design report visuals and collaborate with development staff to ensure that requisite data is available in the system
  • Design, enhance, and maintain existing reporting infrastructure to improve presentation of reporting data to internal and external customers
  • Research existing trends in reporting visuals and recommends products and software development efforts that can improve and expand our reporting/data analytics infrastructure
  • Develop queries and stored procedures required to generate datasets for report visualization
  • Work and function effectively as a member of a team or small group, specifically in Agile-based teams for software development       
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. In Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL development
  • 1+ years of experience with reporting visuals
  • 1+ years of experience with C# development
  • Experience with SQL Server (2014, 2017, and higher)
  • Experience with Crystal Reports, Microsoft RDL/RDLC, Power BI, and any other reporting visual tools
  • Ability to read manuals, technical whitepapers, requirements documents, etc., and deliver development solutions that meet quality assurance standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask with varying priorities, while still maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Remote Work Requirements:

  • Must have high-speed reliable internet access with a hard-wired connection
  • Must have a distraction free home office workspace
  • Must be willing to participate in video virtual meetings (camera on)

Working Conditions: 

Requires routine use of standard equipment and extended computer use. Employee must be able to sit, use hands and fingers, and occasionally lift, squat, stoop, bend, and reach. Problem-solving, practical learning, and instruction interpretation skills are essential.
