As a Software Test Engineer at TRI, you will be working in a growing engineering team that focuses on the design, build and maintenance of TRI’s web and software applications that support clinical trials. This position focuses more on manual testing rather that automated testing.
It will be your responsibility to ensure the OPRA software releases meet the highest standards of
quality and user satisfaction by applying Computer System Validation &
Computer Software Assurance practice
We use an Agile approach to development, so in your Scrum Team you will work with Engineering, Product and Test colleagues to gain an understanding of product requirement, technical strategies and testing implications.
Your skills & qualifications
The key functions performed by the Software Test Engineer will include,
but may not be limited to, the following areas:- Support the software test and validation processes in performing the test requirement assessments for new software releases.
- Provide test effort estimates to the Test Manager.
- Work with the Product Owner(s) to understand the use cases, acceptance criteria, requirements, and design specifications.
- Develop test plans based on the requirements, acceptance criteria and use cases.
- Develop test cases to support software releases.
- Execute test cases.
- Reporting Bugs (via Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, test case design principles, and defect tracking systems.
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques and experience with test management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Must be experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Test Plan or similar tools

- Salary: £48000 - £53000 Depending on Experience

Further advancing risk management
In 2020, TRI once again pushed the boundaries of quality management by unveiling our advanced risk assessment and management tool, OPRA-RAM. This tool was developed to empower researchers to proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks in their studies, ensuring the utmost integrity and reliability of research outcomes.
