Position Summary

The person in this position is primarily responsible for performing monthly, quarterly, and yearly general and revenue related accounting functions for the Revenue Accounting Team. This includes but is not limited to preparing journal entries and maintaining and reconciling assigned accounts in accordance with the framework and guidance of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains and prepares Balance Sheet account reconciliations to support documentation for a timely and accurate closing of account balances.

  • Prepares journal entries and various adjusting entries to meet GAAP guidelines.

  • Assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy.

  • Generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use.

  • May be involved in reviewing, tracking, and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.

  • Provides all information and supporting detail to Management for review and approval.

  • Performs responsibilities in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Required Experience:     

  • Minimum one to three years of staff accountant experience with multi-division company account reconciliation experience of balance sheet and income statement

  • Sarbanes Oxley experience desirable, but not required

  • Oracle experience is desirable, but not required

  • A basic understanding of ASC 606 and related literature preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively – written or orally

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Products

  • Must have strong computer skills

  • Must have the ability to learn and adapt to change

  • Must have analytical skills and professional skepticism

  • Must be detail oriented and well organized

  • Must have multi-tasking experience and abilities

  • Must be flexible on work schedule to meet defined goals within peak periods

  • Must be a team player
