Company Information
Navigator Recruiting client is a locally owned 5-year-old 3-employee public accounting firm based in Denver, CO. All employees work 100% remotely. The firm completes tax returns for many S Corporations and Partnerships and Individuals. This role is primarily a tax return preparation role preparing 80% individual returns (some with Schedule Cs and rental properties) and 20% small business returns (1120Ss and 1065s). The owner will pay the hired individual on an hourly basis and offer some benefits. The hourly rate is between $40 - $60 / hr. Full-time or part-time hours are available. The chosen individual will work 40 hours/week (or more, if desired) in busy season (and be paid time and a half for OT) and 20-40 hours/week in the non-busy season. Small bonuses are given if returns are prepared well. Most clients are small businesses with less than $5M in annual revenues and most clients are in a service-oriented industry. Communicating and asking clients' questions and engaging with clients in order to provide excellent customer service and to help them with tax savings is key. Benefits include student loan repayment and vacation (.1 hours of vacation accrued for every hour worked or roughly 5+ weeks' of vacation for a full-time 2080 hour/year employee.).
 
Responsibilities:
Prepare and individual and small business (1120S and 1065) tax returns using CCH Axcess
Identify and communicate tax planning ideas for clients, including tax research, computations and related documentation 
Plan and execute the day-to-day activities of tax engagements for various clients 
Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters.
Respond to inquiries from the IRS, state, and other tax authorities.
Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilize that knowledge on engagements.
Develop good working relationships with clients to optimize satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform tax services.
Identify performance improvement opportunities in preparation and review of client assignments
Other job duties as assigned

Requirements :
BS in Accounting
EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA or CPA candidate is helpful but not required
2+ years’ public accounting experience with proficiency in tax compliance
Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills and strong attention to detail.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with CCH Axcess and QuickBooks Online are helpful but not required.
