About Us
Ascension Recovery Services partners with behavioral health and recovery facilities nationwide, providing operational, clinical, and compliance expertise. We are looking for a skilled Payroll Clerk (1099 contractor) to support our finance and HR teams with accurate, timely payroll processing across multiple entities.
Role Overview
As a contractor Payroll Clerk, you will manage payroll functions, review timesheets, process wage adjustments, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations. This is a 1099 contract role (not W2 employment) with flexible hours and the ability to work remotely.
What You’ll Do
- Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities and facilities.
- Review and audit employee timesheets and PTO submissions.
- Enter and update payroll data, deductions, and garnishments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage & hour laws.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare payroll reports.
- Provide payroll support to HR and Finance teams as needed.
- Answer employee questions and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of payroll experience (multi-entity or healthcare payroll preferred).
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll tax, and deductions.
- Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems (BambooHR a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive payroll data.
- Organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines.
Contract Details
- Status: 1099 Contractor
- Schedule: Flexible, approx. 15–25 hours per week (varies by pay cycle and project needs)
- Location: Remote, with potential occasional onsite needs (If based in Orlando)
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
