The Director of Financial Reporting & Compliance leads the end to end preparation, analysis, and delivery of the organization’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting as well as all Bond and other regulatory compliance. This role manages the reporting calendar, oversees consolidation across a complex multi entity structure, ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and provides strategic financial insights to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and experience in senior living, healthcare, real estate, not for profit, or other multi site operational environments. This role plays a critical part in elevating financial transparency, enhancing reporting processes, and supporting executive decision making.
Our Director of Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Owns the monthly and quarterly close and reporting calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met with accuracy and precision.
- Continuously evaluates and improves financial reporting and close processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Oversees consolidation of all individual company financial statements across multiple entities.
- Leads preparation, review, and distribution of monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, variance analysis, and key operating metrics.
- Owns the preparation and timely completion of quarterly compliance and regulatory reporting packages, coordinating across finance, operations, and external stakeholders to ensure full compliance with GAAP and reporting requirements.
- Owns all Bond reporting compliance including preparing all calculations, tracking trends and working with leadership to ensure covenants are met throughout the year.
- Delivers insightful, actionable analysis to executive leadership, Regional Directors, and community leadership teams.
- Prepares annual financial statements and footnotes related to all audits.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees data validation and reconciliation procedures across multiple financial systems, ensuring quality, completeness, and accuracy.
- Drives process optimization for reporting, close activities, and data workflows; implement standardization and automation where possible.
- Supports system enhancements and new reporting tool implementations (including Workday Financials).
- Partners with Operations leadership to interpret financial performance drivers and support resource allocation and operational decisions.
- Identifies financial trends, risks, and opportunities across communities.
- Collaborates with external auditors and support annual audit and interim review activities.

What you need to succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and a CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and multi‑entity financial statement preparation including eliminations.
- Advanced Excel skills (modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Experience with Workday Financials, including reporting, general ledger, and consolidation modules.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship‑building skills.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
