Position Overview

As a Finance Associate, you will play an important role in supporting the financial operations that keep the organization running smoothly. This position contributes to the development of scalable financial systems, reporting processes, and operational controls that support the company’s continued growth.

You will work closely with the Vice President of Finance and cross-functional leadership to manage core accounting processes, assist with financial reporting and analysis, support audit readiness, and improve financial workflows. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both operational execution and improving systems that make finance teams more effective.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles
  • Review invoices for accuracy against vendor contracts
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Oversee daily cash management functions
  • Prepare wires and ACH transactions
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring finance tasks
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist in preparing budget-to-actual variance analysis and provide commentary to department leaders
  • Maintain and update financial models to support long-term forecasting
  • Serve as a point of contact for external auditors
  • Prepare audit workpapers and ensure documentation is organized and compliant
  • Maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risk and ensure data integrity
  • Contribute to the review of annual tax documentation including 1099s and 1042s for the client base
  • Assist in implementing and managing a sales tax function
  • Partner with leadership to provide data-driven insights for special projects
  • Assist in the development of a stronger analytics function within the finance team
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and operational improvements within the finance department

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a corporate finance or accounting role
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to manage deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting financial reporting and forecasting models
  • Exposure to financial process automation or systems improvement initiatives

Location

Fully Remote

Compensation

  • Base Salary: Starting at $60K
  • End-of-Year Discretionary Performance Bonus: up to 20% of annual salary, based on individual and company performance
