Zonda is redefining the future of housing. We are perfectly placed in the heart of the fast-growing real estate industry. We are making big bets on the future of real-estate, trailblazing a 2030 vision for the industry. Here at Zonda, you’ll be able to use your passion and curiosity to drive the next generation of real estate analysts, advisors, technologists, and marketers.

Zonda is looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. This role is perfect for someone who wants to grow in a high-growth company that’s expanding both organically and through acquisitions. You’ll take ownership of key accounting areas, deliver accurate and timely results, and play an active role in streamlining and improving our processes.

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll handle a variety of accounting responsibilities – from journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to supporting the monthly close process and assisting with integrations and special projects. You’ll work closely with the broader finance team and have visibility into all aspects of the business, making this a great opportunity for someone eager to learn and grow.

What you will be doing:

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals.
  • Take full ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring they are completed on time, clearly documented, and free of reconciling items.
  • Perform various account and transaction-level reconciliations (e.g., cash, accruals, intercompany, prepaids, fixed assets, deferred revenue, etc.).
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes by ensuring deadlines are met and information is accurate and complete.
  • Assist with acquisition accounting, integrations, and setup of new entities as the business continues to grow.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiencies across the accounting function.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate reporting and understanding of transactions.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP standards.

What type of skills are required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • 3-5 years’ accounting experience; public accounting or high-growth company experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Takes full accountability for assigned areas and consistently delivers accurate, timely, and complete work
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
