Position Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team, reporting directly to the Controller. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of our financial operations as we continue to scale.

The Senior Accountant will own core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on operational experience and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

This is a high-trust position with access to sensitive financial systems. You will work closely with the Controller, CFO, and COO to ensure operational excellence.



Key Responsibilities


Accounts Payable

  • Process vendor invoices, verify coding accuracy, and execute payments according to terms in a dual-authorization control environment
  • Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor data
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions
  • Maintain vendor W-9 documentation and support 1099 reporting

Accounts Receivable

  • Monitor AR aging and conduct collections outreach as needed
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Process customer payments and apply to appropriate invoices

Cash Management & Reconciliations

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate variances
  • Support cash position reporting and short-term cash flow monitoring
  • Reconcile credit card statements and expense reports

Inventory Accounting

  • Track cost of goods sold for hardware products (Bark Phone, Watch, Home)
  • Reconcile inventory sub-ledger to general ledger monthly
  • Maintain inventory reserves and process write-offs as needed

Returns & Refunds

  • Process customer refunds and credits in accordance with company policy
  • Track and reconcile returns reserve balances
  • Coordinate with Customer Support and Operations on return-related transactions

Prepaids & Accruals

  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules and record monthly amortization
  • Calculate and record month-end expense accruals
  • Reconcile prepaid and accrued liability accounts

Corporate Credit Cards

  • Reconcile corporate credit card accounts monthly
  • Review and code employee credit card transactions
  • Follow up on missing receipts and ensure T&E policy compliance

Month-End Close Support

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Assist with account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Support the Controller in meeting close deadlines

Tax Compliance Support

  • Prepare data files and supporting documentation for state and local sales/use tax returns
  • Maintain exemption certificates and resale documentation
  • Support preparation of data for federal and state income tax filings

Process Documentation & General

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key accounting processes
  • Document workflows and recommend/implement improvements for efficiency and internal controls
  • Participate in SOC 2 compliance and audit activities as needed
  • Handle ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Progress toward CPA certification
  • Experience supporting a high-growth or scaling business
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive use of automation and AI in everyday tasks


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an MVNO, wireless carrier, or telecommunications environment
  • Direct involvement in SOC 2 audit preparation and compliance
  • Familiarity with Stripe or similar payment processing platforms and related reconciliation workflows
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting for physical products, including COGS tracking and reserve management
  • Experience managing multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including exemption certificates and nexus considerations
  • Working knowledge of SQL or business intelligence tools (e.g., Redash, Looker, Tableau) for ad hoc reporting and data analysis
